Building science from design through verification

The Windy Hill Lane project in Water Mill, New York brings together a comprehensive high-performance insulation system with energy modeling, testing, and final performance verification.

The building envelope incorporates a hybrid exterior-wall assembly using closed-cell spray foam with Owens Corning R-13 unfaced fiberglass, open-cell spray foam throughout the roof assembly and garage ceiling, and high-density closed-cell spray foam at the basement foundation walls. ROCKWOOL® mineral wool was also incorporated for targeted insulation and sound-control applications.

Performance services included a HERS Rating and certification, ACCA Manual J, D & S design, blower door testing, and mechanical ventilation verification, providing documented testing of the home's energy performance and building-envelope airtightness.
